My areas of interest in scholarship are (a) factors influencing successful vocational rehabilitation for persons living with HIV/AIDS; (b) facilitation of independent living in the community for persons living with chronic illness (c) leadership and management in occupational therapy and (d) social justice and health care. I have been Co-Investigator on three funded projects totaling over $1.1 million to develop and evaluate return to work programs for people living with HIV/AIDS. I have consulted with community-based AIDS service organizations on a national and international basis and have been an author on 22 journal articles, 11 book chapters and 1 book. I serve as the Speaker of the Representative Assembly and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Occupational Therapy Association. I was named a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association in 2002.
