Reshard Riggins, Associate Director, Workforce Development and Economic Empowerment at GMHC, is a veteran in the field of human and community services, with more than twenty years of experience working in varying capacities with populations ranging from youth to the elderly, serving demographics of HIV+, substance use, mental health and the developmentally disabled. Reshard is a graduate of Baruch College of the City University of New York in the Nonprofit Leadership Development Institute through the United Way, with a Masters of Public Administration specializing in Nonprofit Management and Public Policy. Ms. Riggins is an original member of the AMERICORP national initiative to promote qualitative community service within urban and rural environments that started during the Clinton administration. For the first comprehensive Transition to Work Program at GMHC, she was instrumental in program design, job readiness skills and vocational training, program evaluation and curriculum and workshop construction both internally and for local community based organizations. As a long standing member of New York City Employment & Training Coalition (NYCETC) and of Young Non-Profit Professional Network (YNPN), her collaboration with New York 's non-profit industry is extensive. Reshard's background in HIV/AIDS includes working as the Administrative Coordinator for SENC in North Carolina where she provided technical assistance to local, state and national communities providing program and budget consulting for rural community based organizations promoting HIV prevention.
