Kenneth C. Hergenrather, PhD
Ken Hergenrather, Ph.D. is an associate professor of counseling at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He directs the graduate program in Rehabilitation Counseling. He received his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Auburn University in Auburn Alabama . Dr. Hergenrather is the recipient of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE) 2008 Rehabilitation Researcher of the Year Award. His primary research area is the employment needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS. He has worked in the field of public health education in the area of HIV/AIDS and collaborated with community-based AIDS service organizations and state vocational service agencies to address the employment needs of persons with HIV/AIDS. Dr. Hergenrather is a board member of the National Working Positive Coalition and a member of the Research Working Group. He has been an author on several peer-reviewed articles, national presentations, and international presentations addressing HIV/AIDS and employment. Dr. Hergenrather serves on the boards of for three national rehabilitation organizations that include the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA), The National Rehabilitation Counseling Association, and the NCRE. He currently serves as the NCRE Vice President.
